Haven't done any map editing myself, but the first thing I'd do would be to check out the farms and see what kind of entity the wheat fields are.

Maybe it is a node or a special ground texture that automatically plants the wheat graphics.

There was an Update not too long ago which changed it from details to objects, so that people would be able to use that as visual cover.
