Also I've noticed that they don't seem to refill fully anymore. You have to totally drain them and then let them refresh (by leaving the area for a time) before they generate on full gas can's worth of gas (and not the crappy crafted can's capacity either).
Hope it helps. I think Nelson nerfed the fuel regeneration of fuel sources on maps.
2-3 (preferably more) pump jacks and an industrial generator is still the best source of fuel and fuel storage, so you're on the right track in that respect.
if you have a small base, the Industrial Generator isn't needed and one pump jack and one portable generator, with maybe a fuel storage, would be fine enough.
Since the generator doesn't care how many things are powered inside of it, it is usually best to use the right sized generator for the right situation so fuel isn't wasted.
If you have a lone 'oil field' with many pump jacks; then yeah, one portable generator put right in the middle would be best.
If you have a huge base, and happen to have space for pump jacks, then the Industrial Generator would be best.
Would you rather fill 4+ small generators all over the place in a base, or one big one?
If it is out of date, I would like someone to fix it.
Still, 22 hours, 27 hours, it goes frick'n all day and night before needing refilled.
Gotta ask Molton to reverse the grief, or do it myself.
