How do I remove/destroy/etc unwanted items ingame?
Items like Binoculars which can't be salvaged. Is there any way to remove them from the game?

Drop them?

I don't think dropping items will permanently remove them from the game. For several days I had to keep all of my items dropped on the floor because I thought a saw had to be scavanged (I needed to make crates entirely out of sticks) none of them ever disappeared.

So I guess it was a good idea afterall to stay up a few extra hours to make all those crates...

I try to gather anything I might need or think I can scrap for parts. I ended up with a bunch of binoculars because I thought I could scrap them.

Items you touch, or have been dropped by someone or something (like you or a zombie), will despawn once you log off (or game crashes). If you don't touch spawned items around an area, there is a chance that it will despawn once you leave the area and the game refreshes the loot.

So if you want something gone, just drop it in an out of the way spot and forget about it. It will disappear once you leave the game.

However, if you see an item you want later, and wasn't touched by you... touch it! Pick it up and maybe drop it in an easy to find spot. Otherwise there will be a chance it will disappear once you leave the general area as loot generation is done again.

Once I saw a bunch of civilian vests on Charlotte Town, and planned on coming back to scrap them for metal once I freed up some space, and they all disappeared when I came back :steamfacepalm: Oh well, there are easier ways to get metal anyway.

But yeah, just drop it and leave the game to clear the map of loose loot.
