Kicked from server because of invalid character name

I can't connect to any online server because I'll end up getting kicked with that error message. Any help?

it's because little badmins can't kick you because they can't ctrl c you're name and can't find those symbols on a keyboard

Some of the admins on servers are the reason why I can hardly enjoy the online feature of this game

I love my name, as most admins are english-speaking and cannot ban me after I kill them. Its so fun to piss of kiddie-admins then they watch as they fail to ban me.

Well with your characters those are Unicode, which I think Nelson has banned from the game (Because thats on no-ones keyboard). My name is in Russian, so most people on American server sont have Russian keyboards so they can type my name out to ban me.

Pretty much, not unless they have their keyboard binded to symbols, which takes like an hour to set up and needs a profesh keyboard :^)

Just use something like the dots above vowels like this "ö" or foreign symbols å ä

I have found out that there are a select few servers I can connect to, but only insecure VAC ones.

have u fixed the problem because im trying to fix it right now but i can't find it
this is also a prety old discussion cuz i can't find any solution and this is the only thing that i found the closest to it
