Justifying the bullet drop/scope sway update.
Lots of players are hating/complaining about this update, which is strange considering that the changes are actually very easy to get used to.

First off, the bullet drop is easy enough to predict, and at close ranges, is hardly a factor at all.

Second of all, scope sway. The swaying in this game is actually much easier to handle then in real life. Keep in mind in real life factors include your own breathing, unsteady hands, and general distractions, and it is MUCH harder to keep steady aim on something in the distance in a real environment.

And with complaints on the bipod, people say it should COMPLETELY negate scope sway. When in reality, a bipod/tripod only ever solves the problem of unsteady hands and aim, you still have distractions and breathing to account for. So yes, the slight sway you still get with a bipod is completely reasonable.

And finally, obviously the more magnification you get on your scope, the more percieved sway you will get. This scope sway balance change makes longer ranges a bigger challenge, and hardly affects close ranged weapons or marksman rifles.

So please, give these changes a chance, there's absolutely no point to be rioting over much needed game mechanics. Instead, suggest something useful. (Like hey, maybe a new skill to level up that slightly decreases scope swaying.)

Aiming skills should be up to the player and not to the game!

But if it's realism we're shooting for, steadying your aim through a scope is definitely something that requires experience. Plus, I just used that as an example for what people could be suggesting instead of complaining about the update endlessly in the discussions section.

Theres already a skill for scope sway, its diving. Look at the discription of it. Who would have guessed fishermen were the best snipers

Diving doesn't affect scope sway directly, it just affects how long you can hold your breath to steady the rifle. Either way, max diving only gives you 6-8 seconds of air.

Also, another complaint i'm seeing states that "Bullet drop and scope sway should be a toggleable option on servers!" But come on now, splitting up servers into a category based on a small game mechanic like this is simply rediculous. Not to mention it would just split the playerbase for no good reason.

If you had to snipe farther away from a target to compensate for latency, don't see why you can't with normal players. This was quite a good update.

Please no!! Do not split the players up like that! These unskilled point-n-clickers are my favorite targets right now!

Nothing more rewarding than 3 direct hits on an opponent who misses 5 of 5 shots, then exclaims "Hacker!"

Well I wouldn't use that to justify it, if there's latency it will be even harder to hit players. The solution is simply to play on reliable dedicated servers.
