The gtx965m can max out unturned 60fps. It can play other games too like Black ops III at medium settings. It can also play GTA V at high settings and games with simillar graphics at high settings 1080p but thats it. It will last you a good 3+ years of gaming. The gtx 970m on other hand can max out almost all current games at 1080p. It will last you a good 4 years and maybe even more if you turn your settings down to medium. In conclusion if you just wanna play Unturned the gtx 965m is more than enough. But if want to play the best graphical games (like DOOM, Battlefield 1, ARK Survival Evolved etc.) ultra settings go with gtx 970m.

Only reason to choose the 960 over the 970 is if budget is an issue. They both work well, it's just the 970 is a little bit more powerful.

Also worth knowing, is the mobile (M) version of these cards are NOT the same as the regular versions. I have seen people complaining of the 960M NOT doing things my normal 960 does without even trying.

I have an i3-4170 and msi GTX 950 and the game runs in 110 FPS in Russia on High settings.

970, you wanna be up to date with all the latest games for the longest time possible. 2GB VRAM just isn't perfect with all the new titles released.

My advice is to NOT take a laptop for gaming. It not only costs more than a regular computer, but the performance is lower than computer graphic cards

Well I understand that.

I would choose 970m, because the 3gb. 2gb is too little for the now days, most titles end up using more.
