TOO MUCH HACKERS
The amount of hackers in this game is sick right now, i played go and 1.6 for a long time, theres a lot of cheaters there, but in unturned makes me sick the amount of people cheating right now, this game need to be pay to play, its ridiculous how many people can cheat due to the fact that its free.

First of all, the game is never becoming a P2P, and second, even if it was it would not stop hackers... Also, if you are willing to pay money to play the game buy gold and play on gold servers, there are pretty much no punch you to death kill on sight ask questions every 10 secs noobs, and hacking is much less common.

I think I lol'd harder at this than I should have.

Anyways, I honestly don't think the real issue are the hackers themselves. I think it's the fact that we can't do jack shiznite about them. It wouldn't be so bad if we could ban them from our servers. That's the least we should be able to do.

But until then, hackers are free to what ever. Since there are no consequences for hacking at moment (except possibly on small 12 player listener servers), more people are aiming towards becoming one even if it's out of curiosity.

That's what I love about this game - I can host my own server really easily however I like and only let people in I know. May be less adventurous than open P2P worlds but what do you wanna play with strangers for anyway... in games like this 40% of the time they're cheating bandits, 40% of the time they're frustrated pre-teens, that leaves about 20% of normal people who quit after seeing the other 80%.

the game if it was p2p would be wanna get a better wepon? gotta pay for that
want to make a base gotta pay for that! want to join a server gotta pay for that besides the 3.0 has vac protected servers
joyboy 18 sierpnia 2014 o 8:18
you cant just "fix" hackers. its how they are. They want to have all the best items so its best to just leave them

every time i try to host one, everything goes wrong. Its like my dream to have a working server that only me and my friends can play on

free to play has nothing do do with the level of hacking.

cheaters gonna cheat, wait till next update with VAC.

Unturned is developed by one person, from scratch, within the confines of the Unity Game Engine platform. Riot Games has built League Of Legends using their own raw-coded game engine, and because of the way they can network things around, hacking is incredibly difficult to the point where it's not worth hacking if it could be hacked, and the tribunal ensures that anybody who hacks gets banned. League of Legends has a kajillion players online, have annual tournaments, competitive teams, and a great deal of funding from RP and skins. Of course they have the expertise to make the game "hard to hack". Unturned is clearly an Early Access game. If you really hate the hackers this much, you can:

1. Play singleplayer or with trusted friends only
2. Make your own game that has zero possibility of hacking
3. Play League Of Legends

Either way, the problem with hackers is clear, but raging and ranting will not make them go away. And trying to make yourself sound cool by swearing how you kick butt in LoL isn't going to make yourself look any better. I've smashed people in LoL, who doesn't?

Anyway, know that the game is developed by one person, with very little funding, and he only knows sooo much when it comes to development. The game has only been out for so long. Unless you want and know how to help get rid of the hackers, don't whine and cry about it.

Because league of legends was born all godly like and didn't 4sure have an alpha or beta 100% right there, and back then didnt have cheats as well, so please..

They had an expert team of developers. They had unique networking capabilities. Besides. They HAD a beta. HAD. Does Unturned have a beta? YES. Is it still undergoing beta? YES. Is League Of Legends still in Beta? NO. And the PBE does not count. The PBE is a seperate testing environment, unlike the actual game. Does the word "beta" mean a game is completed? Nope.
If you want to counter-argue, you're doing it poorly. League of Legends still has a vast resource pool of developers, servers, and code, not to mention funding. Unturned is developed by 1 person. 17 years old. I'm sure he doesn't have the experience or expertise of the developers trained by Riot Games Inc, who have developed League of Legends long before Unturned. You're comparing a Bugatti Veyron to a Ford Model T. And yes, no matter how much you rant, rage, cry or scream, no MMO game that has been around for a long time has "zero hackers". I still don't know what was your point in creating this discussion topic because it has zero effect on the hackers, and their hacking methods. I'm sure League Of Legends has its share of hackers and cheaters, but at least they don't have people crying and screaming about it while they sit around not helping.

Maybe, if you sat down, learned about multiplayer networking using Unity 3D, and contacted Nelson personally and gave him some ideas to be put into code, he might well listen, and there, less hackers. You can get paid for doing that for major software companies.

Hrmmm. Of course there are griefers and trolls abound (I as a C.E.H refuse to use the word 'hacker' in this context, and am being knifed everytime the rest of you do.).

As others have pointed out, no game has no people abusing rules. Some (mature, stable, finished) games are much harder to subvert in this fashion.

No game is, or ever can be proofed against this sort of thing. If they really really really dont wanna follow the rules theres very little you can do, even if you verify their entire local cache on connect they will find a way around it.

Do not ever trust anyone who claims their software/game cannot be comprimised, no such system exists. People who believe such are only more vulnerable because of it. Hacker rule 1.

And some nomenclature: Only the coder who wrote the hack (or glider/bot/whatever) is the real hacker, the idiots you guys actually meet killing you in games are pathetic, purile...many things, but rarely hackers, people using a hack at best. I have to introduce myself as a hacker, it's on my frikkin business cards, please dont pollute the word any more than it is already!!

-insert post about you being a c.e.h here-
I'll try not to use the word "hacker" next time in the future, unless its to describe good guys like you. I've read about you guys a lot! As a freelance coder, I really appreciate the work you guys do to fix software. Keep up the good work will you? :)
