Industrial Gas Can?!
Am I reading this right?
"Added Industrial Gas Can"

Gah! I'm 8+ hours away from my computer, and can't find out until later tonight. If this is as good as it sounds, it would help a lot in keeping my second Industrial Generator going; which is powering part of St. Petersburg, including most of the subway.

Would this mean I don't need to bring like 6-8 gas cans and 2 full portable generators, and a full Ural truck to fill up most of my off-site generator?! :steamhappy:

Oh yeah, and would mean that admins cheating in fuel doesn't need a dozen and a half gas cans to full stuff.

What would this mean for the buildable Fuel Tank? A portable generator holds almost as much (holding 5 gas cans worth, with a portable generator holding 4), and it is bulky as heck. For an Industrial Gas Can to be... 'industrial sized', it would have to be somewhat along those sizes.

I hope it isn't 3x3. That'd make putting it in plaques or rifle racks impossible. (I used those heavily for a sorted storage system)

(And no, I can't just write a simple posts, it has to be a page long. :steammocking:)

One thing is sure. The industrial gas can is fatter than scarce!

A shame I can't play around with it.

If someone could swing by with comparisons between it and a standard gas can, that'd be great.

I might have to wait for MeLikeBigBoom's video about the update if nothing comes up when I can head back home.

its big as industrial generator... and it takes 5 fuel from normall gas can...
then adding 12% to industrial generator

So a portable... fuel tank.:steamfacepalm: Kind of expected as much. But hey, can't complain too much. It is portable after all, and likely takes up less inventory space than 3-5 regular fuel cans.

I really hope Nelson fixes the sizes and stats for these things, but with the current graphics rendering issue that's going on, along with other problems, it might be a while before the smaller issues like this get hashed out.
...
Wait, a 5 gas can container ups the Industrial Generator's fuel by 12%? I thought the Industrial Generator had a 32 gas can storage, meaning 5 of them would be 15.625%. If it were 12%, that'd mean it would be a bit larger than 40 gas cans worth. Did the Industrial Generator get a fuel capacity increase, or does the new gas can only carry 4 regularly gas can's worth of fuel? (adding 4 cans of gas makes it 12.5% if a 32 gas can tank)

Cue in MATH!!

I'm kinda hyped about this "Industrial gas can"! Beat 0.01 hours from my computer :P

Got on last night and tested things out, which of course means I tried out the Industrial Gas Can.

At first I wasn't too impressed, needing 5 gas cans to make an Industrial Gas Can that holds just as much (was hoping the crafting of it gave a small gain), and that it was a 3x3 item, making it too big to put in a rifle rack/plaque as an easy to grab item...

But after using it for a while, 5 gas cans worth of fuel in a 3x3 item is rather nice! Instead of needing 20 slots to hold the same amount of fuel, I need less than half that amount (9 slots). It is still a bit awkward in the inventory, but the ease of use and capacity helps!

5 times the fuel capacity for over doubled the size? Yes please! I'll take it!

Note: Crafting 5 gas cans into an Industrial Gas Can dumps out the fuel, if anyone was ever wondering.

I was surprised that my St. Petersburg generator was still mostly full, and couldn't use up enough fuel to not waste it... but then I realized I have 6 pump jacks at base, so fuel isn't an issue at the time I did it.:steammocking:

So far you can't revert the Industrial Gas Can back into 5 (normal) Gas Cans, so keep that in mind when making one, since you need Gas Cans for making portable generators and pump jacks.

I'd still like it if the crafting recipe for it was 4 gas cans for a 5 gas can item, since other items tend to improve in a way that is greater than the sum of their parts, but a conservative introduction is good too.

I love it. You can haul half a fuel tank with you in one can. It's 3x3 though.

it is possible to wait 8 hours

To craft it requires 5 gas cans and a blowtorch and lvl 2 crafting, it is 6x better than regular gas can is what i think i got told.

It's just 5 gas cans worth in one 3x3 gas can

Industrial Gas Can
the Industrial gas only fills up 12% of a industrial gas can which is %100 portable gen and fills cars up to %100

Depends on what "6 times" means.

A can that is 5 times the capacity: 5x
A can that is double the size (downgrade 1/2): 2.5x
A can that is green (favorite color): 3x
A can that doesn't need hotkeys and repeated clicking (2x): 6x

So, by that (questionable) math, an Industrial Gas Can is 6x better than a normal Gas Can.

You are about a day late with that comment. I already waited 8 hours, tested it, and slept for the night before you commented.

If it is a found fuel tank; yeah, it is half.

But if it is a built Fuel Tank[unturned.wikia.com], it is the same inventory size, and same storage size, but you can carry it.
...
Nelson really needs to buff the craftable Fuel Tank.:steamfacepalm:
