If someone could swing by with comparisons between it and a standard gas can, that'd be great.
then adding 12% to industrial generator
I really hope Nelson fixes the sizes and stats for these things, but with the current graphics rendering issue that's going on, along with other problems, it might be a while before the smaller issues like this get hashed out.
...
Wait, a 5 gas can container ups the Industrial Generator's fuel by 12%? I thought the Industrial Generator had a 32 gas can storage, meaning 5 of them would be 15.625%. If it were 12%, that'd mean it would be a bit larger than 40 gas cans worth. Did the Industrial Generator get a fuel capacity increase, or does the new gas can only carry 4 regularly gas can's worth of fuel? (adding 4 cans of gas makes it 12.5% if a 32 gas can tank)
Cue in MATH!!
I'm kinda hyped about this "Industrial gas can"! Beat 0.01 hours from my computer :P
At first I wasn't too impressed, needing 5 gas cans to make an Industrial Gas Can that holds just as much (was hoping the crafting of it gave a small gain), and that it was a 3x3 item, making it too big to put in a rifle rack/plaque as an easy to grab item...
But after using it for a while, 5 gas cans worth of fuel in a 3x3 item is rather nice! Instead of needing 20 slots to hold the same amount of fuel, I need less than half that amount (9 slots). It is still a bit awkward in the inventory, but the ease of use and capacity helps!
5 times the fuel capacity for over doubled the size? Yes please! I'll take it!
Note: Crafting 5 gas cans into an Industrial Gas Can dumps out the fuel, if anyone was ever wondering.
I was surprised that my St. Petersburg generator was still mostly full, and couldn't use up enough fuel to not waste it... but then I realized I have 6 pump jacks at base, so fuel isn't an issue at the time I did it.
So far you can't revert the Industrial Gas Can back into 5 (normal) Gas Cans, so keep that in mind when making one, since you need Gas Cans for making portable generators and pump jacks.
I'd still like it if the crafting recipe for it was 4 gas cans for a 5 gas can item, since other items tend to improve in a way that is greater than the sum of their parts, but a conservative introduction is good too.
A can that is 5 times the capacity: 5x
A can that is double the size (downgrade 1/2): 2.5x
A can that is green (favorite color): 3x
A can that doesn't need hotkeys and repeated clicking (2x): 6x
So, by that (questionable) math, an Industrial Gas Can is 6x better than a normal Gas Can.
You are about a day late with that comment. I already waited 8 hours, tested it, and slept for the night before you commented.
If it is a found fuel tank; yeah, it is half.
But if it is a built Fuel Tank[unturned.wikia.com], it is the same inventory size, and same storage size, but you can carry it.
...
Nelson really needs to buff the craftable Fuel Tank.
