In my opinion it is AUG with Adaptive, Barrel, 7x Scope, Vertical Grip

It depends on server type. Survival, sandbox, arena...
It also depends on difficulty - easy, normal, hard.

But overall, not caring about rarity, Maplestrike and Matamorez are the best weapons. Maplestrike is a total beast with vertical grip, adaptive chambering, barrel and cross or dot sight. It is even better in third person. Has no recoil. Matamorez is statistically best assault rifle. 77 damage - double headshots even through helmet, high rate of fire (adapt. chambering). Cross scope is best for this weapon. And vertical grip. You die in less than a second when someone attacks you.

So: first person-matamorez
third person-maplestrike

Best sniper rifle is hecate.
Best carbine is scalar or PDW.

Best carbine/smg: PDW, and Scalar
Best shotgun: Bluntforce, Vonya, Devil's Bane, and Vanguard
Best sniper rifle/dmr: Really all high caliber sniper rifles, Snayperskya, Sabertooth, and Matamorez (I consider the Matamorez as a sniper rifle rather than an assault rifle because of its range)

In my 900 hours of gameplay, although I haven't played recently and don't know balancing...
Matamorez was the best weapon in the game
Maplestrike probably second, due to high firerrate and same attachments as aug, heartbreaker, etc.
I did personally like the aug, but it was not the best statistically. Matamorez was overpowered and most likely still is?

the best weapon will also differ because some people could be playing on vanilla while some could be on rocket

statistically, the best overall guns are the zubeknakov and dragonfang (if rarity doesn't matter)

if rarity does matter then i would say the yuri and zubek are the best

The best economic gun is the assault rifle most common on your map.
The best pesant gun that you deserve is the sportshit for reasons you will never understand and I will not bother to explain.
