Perhaps a Truck?
What all do you want inside it?
Personally, if you want easy to use storage, get a bunch of rifle racks or plaques, since they are so small for the amount of storage they give you, and can just hit Ctrl + F to grab what is displayed on the rack/plaque. The choice of wood or metal racks or plaques is up to you; since metal versions are lockable, but cost quite a bit of scrap, while the wooden version only costs one scrap and a bunch of easy to get wood.
Depending on how much you want in it might dictate the vehicle base you need to use. While it is technically possible to use the single seater makeshift vehicle, the handling might suffer when having such a huge floating backend that resembles a camper. The 6 wheeled 6-seater might be best for this, since it gives the passenger capacity one expects of a camper, while giving enough of a wheelbase to (hopefully) be somewhat stable.
While a portable generator isn't technically needed for lights, since last I heard you can use electric lights at the cost of more fuel consumption by the vehicle, an easy to remove and replace portable generator (aka one that isn't heavily intigrated into the vehicle) is still very handy to have as a way to store extra fuel and for when you need a generator for opening gates or powering vending machines (reason for it being removable is that you can't power things outside the vehicle if it is on the vehicle). However, one locker with four Industrial Gas Cans has enough fuel storage as 20 normal gas cans (or 4 craftable Fuel Tanks, or 2 preexisting fuel tanks) so after awhile of loot collecting, fuel storage is more than covered, and storing the generator might just be a better idea.
Anyway, a good start would be to actually make what all you want in it, and then arrange it in a preplanning area, and then go about building it onto a properly sized makeshift vehicle frame. But be warned, it is very hard to align things properly with freeform objects. Holding down Ctrl while rotating things might help, but even then, if you have any OCD/Perfectionist traits, expect quite a bit of rage while attempting to make your camper.
I would highly recommend building your vehicle on a perfectly flat surface, like a crafted floor foundation, so you aren't accidentally skewing things while making your camper.
