Looking at my "Manage" tab for the Workshop, I see that I'm apparently subscribed to Easter Island and Kuwait.
Do these get subscribed to automatically? I don't remember doing so, though it's possible I did last time I played and forgot. I guess one got an update.
Thanks.
When a new curated map is added to the game, for a temporary window of time it will automatically be downloaded upon the first time you boot the game after the content's release. If you unsubscribe from the curated content, or do not play the game during the relevant timespan after the curated content's release, the content is not automatically downloaded.
Kuwait received a major update by its curated team yesterday. If you're not interested in curated content and do not wish to receive updates for those maps, you can unsubscribe from both of the curated maps, and they will both stay uninstalled even after relaunching the game.
Thanks for the detailed explanation!
I don't remember if I subscribed to those maps manually, or if I happened to launch/play the game during that temporary window of time, but seeing announcements about new maps is one of the main things that makes me come back and take a look at the game, so either one's quite possible. I just have terrible memory... >.>
With Kuwait's major update yesterday, that explains what this particular update was about.
