How do skins work
Hi, i gots a few questions about skins in unturned

1. Do skins ALWAYS replace the default texture(e.g if i got a peacemaker(P90) in a red skin does that mean EVERY peacemaker i get will have that red skin or is it a random chance to find one with your skin and a random chance to find one with the default skin).

2. is it possible for me to make a skin using something like Paint.Net if all i want is to retexture an item or vehicle or do i have to do the texture AND the model?(i'm not all that good at making models, plus the skins i would like are one solid colour like pure red)

3. can someone tell me of a good skin that can be applied to all weapons in Unturned

1. Well a skin for a example my meta nightfall vonya will apply that skin to ALL VONYA I find and only the vonya. It's just changes how a weapon looks.
2. No idea
3. There is no universal skin that can be applied but rather all guns have unique skins such as the jackpot eaglefire and the insane maplestrike.

1. As mentioned above, once you have a skin equipped on a weapon, every instance of that weapon in-game will have that skin when it's in your inventory.

2. Vehicles do not have customizable skins, but weapons and other items do. In order to make an item skin, you don't need to know how to model whatsoever, but it's not as simple as just making a skin and putting it in game. For a skin to be put in the game, you need to upload it to the Curated Workshop and have enough people vote for it. Regarding the process of making the skin itself, you also need Unity to see how the skin looks on the weapon and to take screenshots for your preview, and Blender to acquire the UV layout to know how to skin the weapon. I recommend MeLikeBigBoom's comprehemsive tutorial on the subject if you're serious about uploading a skin.

3. I personally like Woodland, but it's up to you really.

Ok, thanks, i personally was hoping could have both a custom and default skin oif the same item in game so i could be like a collector sort of thing and be like "This is my Red Peacemaker, and this is the default Peacemaker"

I like red skins mostly, or any skin that screams the words "I NEED TO BE IN THE VANILLA GAME"
