How do I start a private server?

Hi, me and my friends have been playing Unturned for awhile and decided that we want to make a private server with all the mods that we enjoy! Only problem is; none of us have ever made a server before, so i am looking here for a guide or maybe walk through on how it is done, thanks for all your help!

Edit: I have used the terminal, and followed the commands, yet I cannot find the SteamCMD > steamapps > common > U3DS directory. File in my file explorer

I have been trying to use the Terminal, I have done the first three steps just fine, but I have yet to find this file: SteamCMD > steamapps > common > U3DS directory.

You need to install the dedicated server app from your Steam Library.

I do wish this was more compatible with a Linux based server. We tried a Linux server and it was crashpocolypse. Any future plans to make it more Linux friendly?

linux should work fine maybe come to the offical unturned discord #server-hosting channel and we can maybe figure out why the crashes happen
