I got a honeybadger and hell's fury in one day from the MILITARY base in singleplayer, not even the deadzone. Still looking for a coalition vest.

at Schwarzwald Military Base (the location you said you searched):

There's about 156-ish low-tier military spawnpoints. There's 68 high-tier military spawnpoints.

There's 21 low-tier special spawnpoints. There's 6 high-tier special spawnpoints.

There are 0 low-tier police spawnpoints. There are 0 high-tier police spawnpoints. There are 0 low-tier Coalition spawnpoints. There are 0 high-tier Coalition spawnpoints.

It would be impossible to get a Coalition Vest at that location. If the Police Vest was counted as a valid vest, it would not be obtainable there anyways.

All maps have always made vests (and helmets) less common than the shirt and pants of the set. In the case of Russia, Hawaii, and Germany (which use a more dynamic spawn system setup compared to maps that were just converted), the vest is part of the high-tier. So instead of having a small chance to find it at any of the spawnpoints, you have a small chance to find it at some spawnpoints (which the amount of can vary depending on the location).

To get any part of the Fighter Jet set, the Military Helmet, or the Military Vest (on Russia and Germany), you have a 2.5% chance. To specifically get the Military Vest (or Military Helmet, as it has the same spawn chance), you have a 1.1375% chance. Each Fighter Jet set piece is an individual 0.075% chance.

Since we're only counting "good guns," the chance to get an Augewehr OR Nightraider starts at a 2.5% chance. To get one of them specifically is a 1.25% chance. The Fighter Jet set is just normal military clothing, so only three of the items you can get from that 2.5% chance is "good clothing." That's a 2.35% chance for just "good" clothing.

Moving on. The full Spec Ops clothing set is part of the low-tier special spawn-group. It's a base 4.2% chance for any piece, but for a specific piece you're wanting (such as the vest) it becomes a 0.84% chance. If we exclude the beret, it becomes a 3.36% chance for "good clothing." The chance for the guns that are part of the low-tier special spawn-group overall is a 4.2% chance (Fusilaut + Heartbreaker). However, if we only include one of them (ie: the Fusilaut), it becomes 2.1%.

Like other high-tier spawn-groups, the high-tier special also has a good chance to give low-tier loot. There is an additional 0.756% chance for a Spec Ops Vest. If we include the ghillie set as valid, you have a 1% chance for any part of the set, or a 0.25% chance for any specific set piece (ie: the Ghillie Vest). To get a gun (that isn't the Fusilaut or Heartbreaker), you have a 1.5% base chance. Specifically: a 0.429% chance for a Dragonfang, Honeybadger, or Grizzly individually. You have a 0.2145% chance to get a Hell's Fury.

I'm not too sure what you consider a "good gun," but the first thing to understand is that you cannot find a Hell's Fury and a Military Vest in the same spot. It will not happen. Now, if we were to compare raw percentages of a Military Vest to a Hell's Fury, that is a 1.1375% versus 0.2145% respectively. If we were to consider all the possible spawnpoints in the area, you're looking at about a 77.35% chance if each one spawned an item versus a 1.287% chance if each one spawned an item.

If we were to be more general on what is an acceptable vest (or clothing item) and what is an acceptable ("good") gun, then both percentages would be higher, and it would be closer to balancing out a bit.

But this also depends on where you're looting, also. If you loot Aerospace Defense Complex there's mostly high-tier military spawns. That's a huge chance for a vest.

I was talking about spawns on the enntire map. I know you can't find coalition vests at the base. Hawaii does not have the dynamic loot spawns. It uses the washington spawns. Military and special. I know how spawntablesw work. I saw the germany spawntables before the map even came out. It makes little sense why vests are so rare if most zombies are wearing them. Milit spawns have only one tier. On a vannila sever I logged on spawned near berlin looted some house went to the bank and found a matamorez.

Military spawns have low tier and high tier on Germany and Russia.

But, yeah.* Hawaii still using generic spawntables on most things.

The above aside: Aerospace Defense Complex. It's mostly high-tier military spawns. That's probably 95% of all the spawns there. You should be able to find a vest at least there quite easily.

I'm playing on normal and I've found heaps of vest and no hells fury but one honey badger in the dead zone
