MacBook Hotkeys
I have a problem in Unturned with hotkeys. I’m playing on MacBook Air early 2015. There is a problem with hotkeys. You can try it by yourself If you have MacBook Air... You can’t do 1-2 guns and you can’t hotkey 3-9 slots. I have 2 same macbooks and they have same problem. On MacBook Pro it works. This problem have people with same version of the Mac I guess. Just write in your Unturned discussion: “mac hotkey”. You will find them too.

What's the operating system on your MacBook Air, and on your MacBook Pro?

I didn't say that I have MacBook Pro. I only know that It works on MacBooks Pro. I just said that I have 2 MacBooks Air early 2015

MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015)
Proccesor 1,6 GHz Intel Core i5
Storage 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphic Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB

Please reply. Thank you!

I took this to imply you had a MacBook Pro. There's no notable difference between a MacBook Pro and a MacBook Air than some of the hardware. The actual issue would more likely lie with your operating system, which you still have not provided me. If your OS is not Sierra, you should upgrade to it.

That being said, I have a MacBook Air, and the game still runs perfectly fine. I can assign hotkeys for 3-9 and 0, and have no issues using all hotkeys from 0-9. Are you sure you're hot-keying the items correctly?

You should right-click the item in your inventory (one that can be held and is not a weapon), and then click the number you wish to assign it to. You may have to hold the Cmd key as you do so, but you probably won't need to.

Honestly, the problem lies within your MacBook. And before we get into that, not only have I used MacBooks, I used to work in a store that only sold and serviced them.

As Molton suggested, get on Sierra, that's your best bet to start if you don't have it already.

That being said, it has been a while since I've messed with them, and I haven't touched them for gaming at all. One suggestion I've seen floating around is to make sure the items are in the 'hands' of your inventory. i.e. not in clothing, but that little section at the top.

I have a MacBook Air and it works fine for me. It has been working fine for me for over 3 years in this game. (so the problem with hotkeys (that you have) isn’t for every MacBook Air user)

I tried it too on Sierra and High Sierra. Is there something that is missing on my folders?

That’s it... early 2015 could have a problem.

More than a year later, I'm experiencing the same exact issue. I've explored the abysses of the internet in the hope to find a solution and I'm yet to find one. Why do my keys 1 and 2 not respond when I try to hold my weapons? The best "solution" I've found so far was to open my inventory and right-click the desired weapon each time to then equip it.

In case it helps, here are my specs:
MacBook Air (13-inch, 2017)
1,8 GHz Intel Core i5
8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB

I don’t use the Mac for gaming anymore, but it’s annoying to right click something and click on “equip” everytime. You know the feeling. I tried unturned on 2 same MacBooks air and both had the same problem. Hotkeys weren’t working. I guess no one cares what MacBook users do🤷‍♂️.
Im sorry, but good luck, I couldn’t find a solution for it.
