Why does our stuff keep despawning?

A bunch of friend of mine and I have rented a dedicated Unturned Server on Nitrado.
We played happily and parken 2 Cars and left 2 Crates in the middle of a town when we left the server on the first day.
The other day we joined again and both cars and crates were gone.
We figured that this stuff would be "eaten" by the zombies since it was right in a town.
So this time we parked our newly obtained cars remote from any monument or town in the wilderness, not even close to a road.
Still the next day our cars were gone.
Do cars despawn in general?
I'm anxious as sh*t bc we we're gonna build a base and I definitely don't want that one to despawn.
So far, turning off the server would seem like the only solution to me. However, this is not an actual solution since my play times (I'm the Server Owner) vary a little from the ones of my friends.
What could have possibly overlooked?
Why does the stuff we build and our cars despawn?

You could try using the /save command every once in a while to make sure that the server is properly saved.
If that doesn’t work then I don’t know how to help you.

A plugin that helps the server owners a lot by giving more commands.

It allows people to install plugins through itself as well as adding commands to cheat stuff ect in your case you would just need to add it and restart the server it would then auto save every 30 mins you can ignore the commands. If you want some assistance installing it I'm happy to help just add me on steam and I'll guide you through it however it's rather simple so if suggest searching Google first or the site iself. site: rocketmod.net I'd suggest getting rocketmod 4

being a server, they were probably taken with stealys and the boxes were likely destroyed by players. If you want to test this out make a small 1x1 and put nothing in it. if the server despawns stuff then it will be completely gone if it is partial probably raiders

Cras can despanw, althought that takes quit e while. Bases don not despawn but rather decay. You can dosable both in the config.json file.
Also, always save your server when logging of.
