What kind of weapon sits dorment in Silo 22

I have a feeling it may be a plutonium (239) bomb. But I did some digging.

The radiation around silo 22 is ionizing radiation. The difference between ionizing radiation and what you would call "non ionizing radiation is that non ionizing radiation does not effect you because non ionizing radiation does not carry enough energy to ionize.

Ionizing radiation has the capabilities to pass directly through objects but when they do they loose a bit of the energy. Something's have more density then others and are able to dilute the ionizing radiation to a point where it is less harmful or maybe even harmless.

Now there's a problem with the nuclear weapon theory. And that is that ionizing radiation doesn't care if your wearing a gasmask. It will still pass directly through you and give you life treating aliments such as cancer death or twisting your genome into a pretzel.

Its possible that my research is wrong and that there's different types of radiation that doesn't would work with this theory but im going to present you with an alternative. The weapon in silo 22 is a chemical weapon.

A cyanide bomb to be exact. Cyanide is nothing new in fact is was used during would war 1.
Cyanide can kill you without making your nervous system break down. Cyanide poisoning symptoms can be

• Weakness and confusion
  
• Headache
  
• Nausea/feeling "sick to your stomach"
  
• Gasping for air and difficulty breathing
  
• Loss of consciousness/"passing out"
  
• Seizures
  
• Cardiac arrest

Making this a likely candidate for the weapon outside of a nerve agent. Because it effects you in a way that makes you look sick without killing you instantly.

Training in the navy, a Blood Agent is so tough to filter out, that you have around six minutes before you must change your filter because being outside in an uncontrolled enviornment with temperatures exceeding room temperature, the filter will heat up buch faster and eventually be rendered useless.

So far we've covered quiet a lit of ground with this post explaining some things that preciously players had not thought of but this post has just explained flame zombies with a real world science.

due to the face zombies cant feal pain it can get supercharged with elect. more so then would cause instant death to a human but not enought to set it on fire nd it can somhow control the elect. for its own needs

Radiation in itself is a form of energy, so if ionizing radiation has more energy, then it would just be a smaller wavelength particle. All kinds of radiation can pass through objects and all get weaker when they do. It would be gamma radiation most likely. Ionizing radiation doesn't have to do with missiles.

If it was radiation, then a gas mask would be pointless as the ionizing radiation would pass through the gas mask. At least Hydrogen Cyanide accounts for the filter degrading so fast and the need for an orange HAZMAT suit. If we were dealing with radiation, you would want a thicker metalic suit. The orange suit is mimicking what the civilians use to combat blood borne and air pathogens. Its completely air tight and lined with charcoal.

This theory has many good points. I haven't taken chemistry yet, so I can't say I know about properties of cyanide. Otherwise a solid theory.
