No Gold servers?

Are they died and nobody create them? I didn't play for long time and now i'm back and my gold server list show "no servers of <digits> version"

Gold servers had buffed loot that's the only reason people played them.

Now you can fully customize server setting (including loot) so it render gold servers useless.

You can still make a gold server but the only difference is silver players can't join.

Because servers with gold don't get as much people and that = less donations and that = no server payments and that = no server

server doesn't need donations to run

you have no idea what you are talking about. any good server is from server providers (Streamline-Servers, Hosthavoc etc) so they can be up 24/7 and therefor cost money to run normally around 1$ per slot with a Game Server. Getting i dedicated also costs even more around 100$ per month

IK the server prices and everything. I know many servers that don't ask for donations

I host a very popular rp server, I have donations but i dont rely on them to run the server. If people donate that means they like the server if they dont, then your not doing a good job.

some people also rent servers for fun. GameServers is pretty cheap.

GameServers.com? not recommended. Not good/No DDoS and they are also not that much less then other server providers.

I'm curious will people be interested in vanilla gold servers just with maybe some non-standard maps

They need skill, time and money. No money = no 24/7 hosted server and you are relying on the owner of the server to have his PC on and only be able to play that server when his PC is on.

Unless people get something in return then no most people don't donate. Have a look at RocketMod. Around 85% of servers use it and you wanna know how much money RocketMod gets in donations?

In my opinion more gold servers would be good. Less cheaters etc. But it gets to that thing where people don't play them because there aren't many people on them also more gold servers more people would buy gold = more money for Nelson = better game

depends. But you can use HidePlugins (on the RocketMod repo) to allow up to 48 players as well as it still showing on the server list
