There is no general rule for grips, each weapon has its particular recoil angle. For example, some firearms' recoil goes directly upwards, which renders horizontal grips virtually useless (Such as Maplestrike, Scalar, Augewehr, Bulldog, Nykorev, Bluntforce, Vonya and maybe more).
Other firearms' recoil generates at intermediary angle, which makes grip choosing strictly up to preference (e.g. Zubeknakov, Nightraider, Honeybadger, Matamorez).
Intermediary recoil weapons may also be classified as tending to vertical (such as Heartbreaker, Eaglefire, Grizzly) or tending to a more horizontal angle (Fusilaut, Snayperskya).
Weapons where a horizontal grip gives way more of an advantage than vertical does include Sabertooth, Viper, Dragonfang and perhaps more.
