I can't place a doorway in a door way.

Hello all! I was play Hawaii in SP and came across that half above half below water research station at the boat dock. And I though it was a good place to make a base here. So I halued all my crap over and was just startig to make my base when I realised that I can't put any doors in the doorway. I tried wverything even vault doors and nothing. Maybe doors can't go there? Thanks all! Have a great day! BTW that lab at the Holokai Harbor has some great viper drop rates. Just get some civi amoo and you're set. Like actually in just going back and forth every ten inutes I found like three of four vipers in a hour. At least.
