Dear Unturned community.

So, a couple of days ago me and my pals were going to play some good old Unturned when we started looking for a nice server. We wanted a server with some mods so we turned on workshop. We then turned off plugins (so no kits and that bs.). And no cheats so no admin is abusing. And then we searched.

Surprise. No server. NO SERVER AT ALL. (With players).

So we then went ahead and turned on cheats. And not a single ♥♥♥♥♥ server.
Then we turned plugins and boooooom, list full. So we started looking for a good server.

But every servers name was something along the lines of "Op kits|kits|free loot.
OR "Rp|Police|kits|6+|.

What happened to the good old Unturned? I don't even get the fun with kits, You know what's Fun!?! Working your ♥♥♥ of to getting loot, building a base and becoming the best on the server.
It's the road to becoming the best that's the fun part, so why take it away?

Currently, these are what is popluar with the community, as you yourself just proved to us, so they are going to stay as people make money from them and thye aer popular so there is no reason to change it. And I'm fairly certain there is a way to host your own server for free, so you can easily play with friends if you want.

Yes, i know this has been a problem for a while but i just stopped hosting my own server so I just noticed how big of a problem this was.

The servers are popular because people like that, the game is not going to die because some people don't like it. The ratio of people who like it to people who don't is so much that if everyone who didn't like it stopped playing, it would have almost no effect.

I don't think the game is dying any time soon just that the community is changing, just like with minecraft, the people who where there when it started has stopped playing and their spot has been taken by newer players that like the game as it is at the moment. It's just sad to see this happening to unturned.

I don't think the game is dying any time soon just that the community is changing, just like with minecraft, the people who where there when it started has stopped playing and their spot has been taken by newer players that like the game as it is at the moment. It's just sad to see this happening to unturned.

It happens to everything I'm afraid. Just as the community of Minecraft once loved it for it's simple but fun design and mechanics and so fourth, the new community loves it for... whatever reason. Personally I'm not a fan of the new convoluted Minecraft that Microsoft has created, but that's a different subject.

Yes, it's a shame that the online portion of the game is changing, but this is just what happens. Us old foggies are just going to have to accept it really, becasue it's the freedom of the players to choose how they run their servers. I can't quite remember but I think i've been playing it since near the end of 2015, maybe sometime in 2016 and stopped playing for a while. I came back and I'm honestly not a huge fan of some of the changes I discovered.

Rocket overrides the cheats off command

And yes, most of the servers on Unturned as filled with cancerous OMFG KIT PVP OP KIT FREE ADMIN PLS JOIN FREE VIP FREE LOOT 999X LOOT JOIN NOW MLBB IS HERE!!! servers

And their now basically inevidable, considering the community is getting more and more kids, kids don't knoe what the real game experience is, they just want some blunt replacement for CoD since they can't buy it or run it. They don't wanna take the time going from location to location scavenging for loot or crafting a gun. So most of the servers are cringy and hosted by kids (and now with all these kids, we got plenty of people willing to exploit their stupidity with rented servers)

so basically due to Unturned being blocky and easy to overcome survival, it's kinda now become a FPS.

I mean Unturned was an FPS during early 3.0, but that was actually fun. No military helmets, no kit bs, hard-ish to get a gun, no admins around, no hacks, it was actually fun

I've been around since Deadzone (early 2013) and I have seen Unturned grow over the years. I honestly can't believe that it's been four years already. I liked Unturned at the start of 3.0 - no ridiculous features, yet enough to be enjoyable.

hard-ish to get a gun . yup , in canada map (first map in 3.0) where you can find schofield , colt , aces and very rare AR

Heres a theory. If Nelson say, removes Rocket mod from being used on Unturned (no idea how), what would happen? I believe 25% of the rocket loving population will end up abandoning the game while the rest will do what us vanilla loving people do when rocket took over. Accept it.

The problem is that the size of the community who think like this is very small. Objectively, it makes more sense to keep the players who want OP kits and so fourth because that is clearly the majority, so it makes more sense to cater to the majority of players so you have a larger playerbase rather than the minority and lose the most of your players.
