Bolt action rifles.
Dear Nelson,
This is not a hate letter, just a question of why you need to unscope after firing to put another in the chamber.
The bolt action was specifically made to NOT have to stop aiming down sights to continue firing.
There is not really a reason to change this, it doesn't make any sense, in realism or ingame, if you could get back to me on this.
I am just awfully confused as to why this balances anything.

P.S in Washington under rainbridge, there is a rock you can easily glitch into if you crouch/prone. On both sides underneath the inclined bit of the bridge.

The bolt action system was made as a primitive loading system for chambering big rounds and for reliability.

Every bolt action gun in the game uses some pretty high caliber ammunition, requiring a very strong spring, which requires more force to cycle. It is much more efficient to unscope and get a good grip on the rifle to cycle the round.

Even if you could cycle when aiming, it would throw your aim far of where you where aiming.

This is the only game I've known of where you must UNAIM the sight just to reload the bolt action. Rest of the games I've played with bolt action still let's you do the reload animation while still aiming.

It's irritating as hell having to unscope because I forget to do it and wonder why I can't shoot.

Games like what? Most games require you to unscope to cycle the bolt.

I don't know what OP entirely mean but if he meant unscope with a scope then that's his side.

My side here is unaim with a sight to cycle a bolt is just.. ridiculous.

It's most likely because in real life, pulling the lever is probably really hard (I can't confirm that because I've never used any gun irl). It just adds a little realism into an unrealistic game

even with the rounds being high in caliber the gun still wouldn't need to be un-scoped due to it being bolt action, (applying his theory) and some of the civillian grade weapons being bolt-action ( low cal ), you wouldn't / shouldn't need to unscope.

After playing Battlefield 4 for a while and coming back to Unturned it was something to get used to again when in BF4 I had the Straight Pull Bolt attatchement which didn't require you to un-scope :P

I do like how you have to un-scope though, I find it more fun kinda.

As I stated in the original discussion post, the bolt action was built to fire off multiple rounds accurately withought needing to unscope, if you fire a bolt action in real life, you will realise that it is more simple to do it without unscoping.

Springs for most bolt action guns are very strong, thus hard to pull. You can cycle quickly if you experienced, but that's not in Unturned's case. It is much more preferable to unscope to be sure you loaded a round properly. Also, you wouldn't be able to cycle without unscoping, as the bolt would ram into your cheek.

I don't think you understand what the difference is between bolt action vs semi auto.
Bolt action is where the bolt would smash into your cheek if you tried to cycle the bolt while scoped. Semi is where the gun automatically pushes the bullet into the chamber, not forcing you to unscope.

That's the charging handle, not the bolt.
