The controls aren't built around having so many projectiles come at the player from so many different directions. Go play any well-received bullet hell and you'll notice that they don't have momentum-based movement: you move at top speed immediately upon pushing forward, and you stop moving entirely as soon as you let go. Plus, they also make the player's projectiles move super-quick so you can reliably hit enemies on the opposite side of the screen. Likewise, the best precision platformers all let you cut...
