While this is a decent enough game, it's by no means better than SR4, which it appears to be moddeled on.
There are quite a few games that are both open world and better than Agent's of Mayhem. In fact, I'm not even sure that Agent's can be truly defined as open world since, to my knowledge, you can't fly anywhere. You are restricted to running or driving to your objective, which kind of puts it back a little, in terms of the evolutionary process when compared to open world games like SR4.
Hell, I didn't even know that this game existed until it was put on the store page during the winter sale, what does that tell you about it's popularity?
Red Ded Redemption is set in the early 1900s where aircraft weren't exactly commonplace. Maybe it's your logic that needs a little work?
Can you fly in RDR? No. Is there a sensible reason why? Yes. But it doesn’t matter. According to the quote, RDR can’t be considered open world.
I was just pointing out that RDR was not an ideal game to draw a comparison and I stand by that. The rest of your reply really has no relevance to my comment at all.
If there’s nothing wrong with that quote then there’s nothing wrong with this:
“I'm not even sure that RDR can be truly defined as open world since, to my knowledge, you can't fly anywhere.”
"I'm not even sure that Agent's can be truly defined as open world since, to my knowledge, you can't fly anywhere."
My point simply was that a game can be open world without having the ability to fly.
so because I can't fly in Mirror's Edge Catalyst or Red Dead Redemption they're not open world, makes total sense.
Also Makoto Niijima dude that is a very positive review, good on you ya rebel
