Monster Taming Direct 2025 + Demo Update 1.2.2

Version 1.2.2 of the Insectile Demo is here!

This update implements new animations to match the ones shown off in Monster Taming Direct 2025! If you have not seen the direct, I highly recommend you watch it here! (Thank you so much to Gym Leader Ed for selecting Insectile to be a part of the event!)

Animations

Taming now triggers a new animation where a jar clunks down over the target Insectile.
Morphing now triggers a new animation where the target Insectile wraps itself in silk.

Glitches

Fixed a glitch where a lily pad in the Muddy Poppy Patch would disappear.

Unpause Glitch

Sometimes, when I press ESC or E to unpause the game, it randomly crashes the game. It's very inconsistent, so I don't know if there's something that I'm doing to cause it. I want to like this game, but this serious of a glitch being overlooked doesn't give me high hopes....

🐛 Design a cute, puzzle-shaped bug! (Note: The submission does not have to be pixel art!)

Maps and Menus!

Version 1.2.0 of the Insectile Demo is here!

There is very little new content this time around. Instead, this update is mostly quality of life changes related to the user interface. I’ve also included the patch notes for the previous two versions, which seemed too minor to feature on their own.

User Interface Changes

All sections of the inventory have been remodeled.
Insectile and item icons now cast a slight shadow behind them in all menus.
When opening the inventory, it will now jump to the last tab you were in.
The “Insectiles” section has been broken into pages.
The “Map” section has been added to the inventory.
Please note: If you have previously played the demo, the map will start blank. Rooms will need to be traversed to reveal them on the map.
The “Bestiary” section has been broken into pages.
The “Bestiary” section now shows silhouettes of all missing entries.

Gameplay Changes

The Fiery Form Caster now changes shape after each usage.

Glitches

Fixed an inconsistency in the Soothe tutorial. (1.1.1)
Fixed a glitch with the Tame Gauge in multi-phase encounters. (1.1.2)

Other

Changed the placement order of Insectiles in the Scare tutorial, for clarity.
Adjusted the color of the silhouette when taming an Insectile slightly.
Fixed a coloration error on the Crawling Olives.
Adjusted the mixing in the track “Powerful Pincers” (boss battle music).
Compressed audio files.

dizziness

Hello, I like the game a lot, but the camera moves to much and i get very dizzy. Is there any chance to add a setting to zoom out the camera, or maybe to let the camera steady while walking? Thank you!
