The answer is yes.
I'll never understand the people who like ridiculous damage values, it makes fights too short which is boring.
Not understanding the comparison between this and smash, though I've barely even played that so eh. Currently I think the game is actually in an ok spot now that every match isn't 4 Raider's/Orochi's minimum camped out at the top of the scoreboard.
Move your mouse and block. It's not Raider's fault you got hit by the same feint 7 times in a row.
Shinobi is a different story considering there is a 100% chance that his current state was unintentional (pretty sure Ubi didn't give him totally non-punishable attacks on purpose. I hope.)
I suppose we'll see what the devs are thinking next patch.
Unfortunately, there's way too many ways to cheese in this game..and when hundreds and thousands of dollars are on the line...people are going to cheese. Remember there was a tournament gameplay with a nobushi or something and they were exploiting a bug or a cheese move during the tournament and the casters had to act like it was a super pro thing? lol That was painful to watch.
The ease of mixing lights, heavies and guard breaks, all while being able to initiate the same chain with ease is a little troubling for me still.
Berzerker for example is a character built on the idea of constant attacks, but the Raider surpasses them with how easy they can just mix attacks and catch people off guard. They also live longer when you screw up, I presume that's higher health but I don't know the stats so can't confirm.
Raider is still good fun though, I just kill a lot easier with them than any other Viking hero at the moment.
He definitely needed those values reduced, and honestly as a Raider main prior to the rework and still after, he could probably even do with a tad more damage reduction on his attacks.
Still really fun to play and still really good but now you have to actually play the game instead of being allowed to go monke
