If the enemy guard breaks your when you attack, It's because they got off the move before your attack, On your screen it might look vice versa, But even having a better computer or faster internet can make fights tip in a different prospective and make it slightly harder for you, Or you might miss something by a mili-second while the person your fighting isn't.
I've been getting guardbroken out of GB attempts a lot recently. Not sure if this is lag from my opponent or a bug. Gets annoying when you lose a duel to a ledge that way.
@Always_uncomfortable, guard break after parrying is not guaranteed
Guard break is guaranteed when certain moves, with high recovery time, whiff. Also, if you catch someone while he's dodging and lastly, after blocking an attack with the superior block property that some heroes have (e.g kensei, valkyrie). Berserker's deflect also lands a guaranteed guardbreak.
There are a few characters like raider and kensei who have dash/dodge+ guardbreak moves in their moveset and they can counter guard break while executing them most of the time, so the guaranteed in dodge guard break doesn't always apply for these characters
