To his surprise you/Jill manages to escape the caves and catch up to him shortly after within the bossfight area were you get rid of Lisa Trevor.
At this point you'll be given the option to either trust him, regardless of his prior actions, or...well....not trust him. Doing the latter will lead to his death and he'll drop a picture of his family with note on the back.
If you trust him he'll cover you in the fight against Lisa and if he survives (Lisa can push him over the edge) you'll meet him again in the lab were he will hold Jill at gunpoint after she finds Wesker in Tyrant Lab.
Its there where it is revealed, why Barry acted the way he did. Turns out the Wesker blackmailed him to do as he says. Otherwise his family will be killed. Ultimatly that turns out a bluff from Wesker.
Throughout the conversation Wesker orders Barry to leave the lab and wait for him at topside. Which he seemingly does but when Wesker makes an attempt to shoot Jill (Yes, apparently he does not want Jill to fight the Tyrant), Barry intervenes and shoots Wesker and saves her life.
Wesker then releases the Tyrant and gets bitchslapped by him. Crawls away, starts the self destruct, you (can) safe Chris from the prison cell, heliport, Tyrant fight... yade yade yade.
So its mostly a few cutscenes involving Barry. And no Rebecca. At all. Doesnt event get mentioned in Jills scenario.
