Dino Crisis/Dino Crisis 2 HD REMAKE anyone?

Not CAPCOM related but, yes, I'm also waiting for a PE2 Remake. Wonderful game!

That's a necessary risk... You're still left with the original/s if the remake/s turn out to be bad.
But if they turn out to be good... Then it's a win/win situation. No risk no possible win...
The situation involves a greater risk factor on the developer's side. There's much more at stake than your average Joe's favorite game getting slaughtered...

It doesn't necessarily need to be a "remake" but rather a remaster in HD with high poly counts and all that. Basically just make the graphics a lot better but keep the gameplay the same. Maybe touch it up a little bit, modernize the controls, add controller support, etc. But make everything an option, so we can choose classic or modern.

You see how the border between a remaster and a remake becomes so shallow... While raising up the poly count "and all that..." thus already switching to a different engine, doesn't yet scream a remake, "touching it up a little bit" (the gameplay... ) is kinda pointing towards a "re-envisioning"... a remake...

By "touching up a bit" i mean trying to eliminate some clunkiness and glitches and that's it. I guess it would technically be a remake, yes, since it would most likely require a new engine. I'm basically talking about a Halo CE: Anniversary/Halo 2 or Fable Anniversary, where the gameplay remains exactly the same, but the graphics are way better. 343 did a fantastic job with the Halo CE and Halo 2 "remasters." But again, it would be harder to remake such an old game without completely re-making it. But I'd be fine if they just made it 1080p, added controller support, achievements, re-made all of the character models and upped the resolution of the backgrounds.

But I would be thrilled if they decided to make the game on a new engine and make it look awesome, while keeping the gameplay the same. Either way, I just want to play it in HD with solid controls.

I'm not against remakes. I'm not against tweaking different bits, adding new gen tech support or adding new content. On the contrary, I'm totally convinced that good games would deserve and benefit from good remakes. That is, as long as the devs don't decide to change different aspects of the original game/s for the sake of "mainstreaming" them... thus breaking the original concept. Resident Evil REmake it's a great example of a good remake. Also The REmaster. Another great addition.
