Soundtrack from RE1 Original or RE1 Remake ( Gamecube)
Is the soundtrack in the game of Resident evil 1 Original or Resident evil 1 remake (Gamecube)

I've never played RE1 Gamecube but I believe that the soundtrack was different right?

Personally I think the DC version had the worst of the three soundtracks.

And how is the soundtrack of the Gamecube remake?

Have only played on the PSone Directors Cut

RE1 1996 classic ! It has the best OST out of all RE games, easily !

Ineed, the original (not directors cut) had some truly fantastic music. I can't recall the location in the game, but when I was much younger giving it my first play, one location made me mute the tv because the music was getting way too under my skin.

Good example of the differences.

Resident evil original https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8HPCVU4ugA#t=65

Resident evil dualshock https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kcF7E69C6Q

Both of those are from the same location in the game.

I'm confused about something. when they first came out, I had Resident Evil AND the Directors cut when that released later, yet they both had the same music.

UK mind you and it was just "Directors Cut", no "Dual Shock Edition" or anything like that .... the terrible soundtrack, was that purely on an American release or something?

The music from the original is classic, some great themes in there and I do like some of the themes from the REmake, but ultimately I think the original is more memorable.

Directors Cut and Directors Cut Dualshock were different titles with different soundtracks.

The Directors Cut Dualshock edition has the changed (and what most call inferior) soundtrack.

As for if it was just an America thing, I have no clue. I just know that you had to go hunting back in the day to make sure you got the right version of the Director's Cut without the horrible soundtrack :P

Thanks for the clarification Nathanial, christ if i walked home with my directors cut and started playing to hear THAT music, i'd have been gobsmacked.

How the hell did that replace the original ost, somebody somewhere must have listened to it and thought "yep, thats ace, we'll use that"

Very strang change I guess, entertaining though.

The soundtrack might end up being moddable.
In previous titles those were simply 5.1 OGG files.
