from Directors Cut
Have only played on the PSone Directors Cut
Good example of the differences.
Resident evil original https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8HPCVU4ugA#t=65
Resident evil dualshock https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kcF7E69C6Q
Both of those are from the same location in the game.
You said basically what I was going to say.
So here's this instead:

UK mind you and it was just "Directors Cut", no "Dual Shock Edition" or anything like that .... the terrible soundtrack, was that purely on an American release or something?
The music from the original is classic, some great themes in there and I do like some of the themes from the REmake, but ultimately I think the original is more memorable.
Directors Cut and Directors Cut Dualshock were different titles with different soundtracks.
The Directors Cut Dualshock edition has the changed (and what most call inferior) soundtrack.
As for if it was just an America thing, I have no clue. I just know that you had to go hunting back in the day to make sure you got the right version of the Director's Cut without the horrible soundtrack :P
How the hell did that replace the original ost, somebody somewhere must have listened to it and thought "yep, thats ace, we'll use that"
Very strang change I guess, entertaining though.
In previous titles those were simply 5.1 OGG files.
