Shotgun room glicth

Dammit
Just had to restart due to a glicth

I went to get the shotgun without using the broken shotgun
triggered the trap
tried the door back to the shotgun room first (expecting it to be locked)
it opened and locked me in the shotgun room
I could not leave

This happened while using the no door mod
Is this a glitch with this mod or has this happened without it?

It can happen if you talk to Barry in the main hell again and THEN try to get the shotgun. Put the shotgun back and the ceiling should reset. You'll just have to get the Broken Shotgun.

If you did not talk to Barry, the mod broke your game.

Did you check both doors when got trapped?
Mod doesn't affect this place, but talking to Barry in the main hall does.

No just the door which goes back into the shotgun room

To be clear as i think there may have been a misunderstanding here,
i was not trapped in the room where you get crushed
I was trapped in the room where the shotgun is

I picked up the gun,
left the room and triggered the cealing comming down cutsceen
used the door which connects to the room where the shotgun is
it let me back in that room (it should not have done)
and then would not let me out.

It's the same as in the original PS version.
It's not letting you out because the room's ceiling is down. You have to place the shotgun back.
Like people mentioned above: if you triggered a Barry cutscene before then you won't be able to get the Shotgun the "cheap" way.
And best place to trigger him is by exiting second floor hallway. That way he gives you acid rounds (if you have 1 free inventory space).

Did you put the shotgun back...that should reset the trap.

I dont think that would have worked because normally once you setoff the trap you cant re-enter the room where the shotgun is at all - barry rescues you and then you can never re enter.

As soon as i re-entered the shotgun room I heard the crunching sound tou get when the cealing lands normally. This suggests that the game was in the state it is in when the cealing is down (when you walk past the room from the outside you see the huge block blocking the way)

replaceing the gun simply prevents the trap for activating in the first place.

there is no in game way to reset the game state where the cealing is down.

Yes, but you can't be 100% it won't work. Just try it.

If Barry isn't rescuing you you should be able to return to the shotgun room. Putting the shotgun back will work. Your options are to restart the game and make the shotgun one of your first tasks so that Barry rescues you. Or to continue and find the fake shotgun.

I just attempted to do this again
This time the glitch did not occur
The only thing i did differently was to pick up the broken shotgun (but i did not actually use it)

It sounds like you met Barry in the main hall, as that should be the only way for you to have retrieved the broken shotgun; you meet him either on the second or first floor depending on where you exit from, but there's no way around it.

This isn't a glitch. Events can occur differenlty depending on what order you do things. That is why I said if you restart make the shotty one of the very first things to go for.
