Check your play time?

Is there a way to see your play time for a run? Like in a stats menu or something. I'm going for the 3 hour run and don't really want to keep going if I'm too slow.

Whip out your phone / laptop / Ipad / stopwatch and time it. =P

There's no in-game timer, this is old-school, haha. Even pausing the game doesn't stop the timer.

yeah what others have said. as it is: pausing the game, inventory and cutscenes all continue rolling the ingame timer so it's actually pretty accurate to just time it with an external timer.
over 3 hours real time is likely already past 3 hours ingame time.

Yeah I think this is the best pointer. I'm up to the shark tank in the residence now and after my session ended it said I was playing for 88 minutes. Give and take messing around in the menus I'd say I'm around 80 minutes or so game time.

I would say that's doable to still get under 3 hours by the end as long as I skip the MO disks.

just use your knowledge and make checkpoints for yourself ! Like for example, me with

-getting all 4 masks
-reaching the guest house
-reaching the mines
-the labs

you will get a flow with multiple playthroughs :] and save when the save points are on your path !

Well I finished it in 2 hours and 44 minutes which I'm genuinely surprised at considering I forgot the emblem key and had to backtrack to get that and also forgot to pick up Wesker's lab key and had to run all the way back to his "corpse" to get it.

I just did it but i have to say i did have to backtrack a few times as forgotten items. And i'm sure i took the long way more than once. Still managed it in 2 hours 57 minutes.

I tacked playtime with the built in steam overlay timer. Fired the game up and started the run. So the timer was pretty accurate.

2 hours and 44 minutes? hell i'm playing on the hardest difficulty and it taken me hours just to find the intimidation key lol

^ getting that mo disks 1 minute, with actually unlocking all of them bout 5 mins.

i just fell short of the time by 30secs, didn't realise the timer would continue with cigarette breaks.

did it on easy in less than 2,30hrs

You can use them, they don't affect your end result. I just did a no save run and managed to do it in around 2 hours but i abused the hell out of the infinite rocket launcher.
