Certain zombies have weak legs too, and shooting down will shatter their kneecaps, even with a pistol. Destroying the head, knees, or burning them will stop them from mutating forever. Always carry Kerosene and a shotgun. ;)
Also, don't shoot everything you see right away, it's often better to run around / dodge zombies until you have more ammo. They will never mutate unless you 'kill' them normally. Luckily they're pretty slow for the most part.
That "first" crimson head you can ignore. Just run past him to the door. He will be in this location but in difrent place when you'll be there later.
[edit] 3 minutes? xD
I'm playing on Xbone :p My pc couldn't handle this game with all the lag n ♥♥♥♥... I have over 20hrs I think xD I'm bad at this game.
enjoy! the beginning is a bit difficult when ammo is few and far between, so just pace yourself and youll have plenty of ammo halfway through the game to make everything smooth sailing for the most part
So. If I destroy their feet they'll never turn? Does it work with knife?
Also, welcome!
You should have been burning the corpses from the begnning... if you did not, now all zombies are back up faster and stronger than before... There are simply no ammo to deal with that... lol
You better get back to thad save file and backtrack to old corpses and burn them. Some Crimson Heads cannot be avoided.
I knifed his head & blew it off with the shotgun. He dropped, I picked up my knife and proceeded on to burn other bodies in the room. When I came back around to move forward, HIS HEADLESS CRIMSON CORPSE POPPED UP AND GRABBED ME. I nearly ♥♥♥♥ myself because I had never encountered this in the Gamecube version and didn't know this could happen.
Needless to say, I knifed the missing head location and the knife appeared in the torso. I couldn't get my knife back ;(
I-I didn't knew they could do that... Jesus!
BTW are you talking about defensive daggers? If so. Can you pick them up from corpses? and how?
First of all, I applaud you for playing the game as designed. It's actually only Normal mode, but damn it all if it doesn't seem hard as a new player. Then again, that's kind of the point. But moving on...
There is not an infinite amount of kerosene, no. There should only be around four uses per container on Normal, and there are only two containers readily accessible to you (giving you the ability to take down eight zombies clean before you run into V-ACTs again). There is a third outside, but I wouldn't recommend going out there until you get the Shotgun.
There is one Crimson head that cannot be avoided at all, but the rest can be avoided with judicious use of kerosene and defensive/evasive tactics.
Warning: if you are attempting to escape the mandatory Crimson Head and run past any zombie you did not previously neutralize, the Crimson Head WILL kill the zombie to get at you and therefore create yet another Crimson Head. This may lead to a terrifying encounter later on. If this happens, immediately exit through any available door without hesitation.
One thing I will say is that chemicals affecting normal versions will also affect T-Virus counterparts.
You can retrieve your dagger if you blow off their head, as it will be present among the remains of their head when they fall. The problem is that the likelihood of this happening is fairly low.
