Stuck with battery/elevator puzzle

Hey guys, i completed this with Jill back when it was released on the wii, enjoying it again with this hd remastered version, however after i get the battery that you use for the lift, i know i have to use the crank again on the waterfall so that it reveals the secret passage, but i cant figure how to get there once the water level rises, thanks for any help

1. Lower the water level. (crank)
2. Go downstairs via the path you used to enter the Residence area before.
3. Look around in the "waterfall" area and look for the 2nd lift, use the battery here.
4. Use this "new" elevator to go back to the crank and rise up the water level again, which will stop the waterfall.
5. Use the "new" elevator once again to go down, and now the waterfall has stopped you can enter the caves.

Drain the water again, and use the elevator down. Then go down the middle of the area and you'll see another elevator with no power. Insert the battery next to it and then take that elevator back up. Then go back and drain the water and go back to and use the elevator back down again. Once you are down, you'll see a new pathway where the waterfall used to be.

ah damn, sorry for the question, but i had to run around the mansion and i got easily lost, you can get stuck easily after not playing it for a while, thanks again !!!
