Upgrade to something better/modern such as Windows 7 ot 8.1. No one except businesses should still be on XP and even they face criticism. I'm sure a copy of Windows 7 can be snagged cheap somewhere or you can find a discount for Win7 or 8.1. If someone can't afford to.. well they probably shouldn't be gaming on PC or can get a job. Be sure to purchase and install Windows 7/8.1 64-bit if your hardware is 64-bit capable which most hardware in the last six or so years is.
Case in point, anyone using their system to play games should not still be trying to play on XP. If anyone is still trying to run games on XP this is the type of response they can expect even more so when the requirements specifically state Windows 7 or better.

but as the above poster said. most developers have moved on. and XP is officially death when it comes to gaming. just upgrade to windows 7 or 8.1 and it should boot up fine.
Any info?
However, untill I have the time and money to invest into a modern PC with newer Windows OS, I have to deal with this and XP. There several other games, for example XCom (the remake), which weren't made for xp and actually wouldn't run, if you not tweak the exe on a few points and add a certain file.
Technically am I sure that my PC could run this, if the files would be properly read.
When I try to start it, I get this: bhd.exe is not a valid win32 application
No seriously get off XP already. If it means so much to you like abandoning a son, you can simply create 2 HDD partitions each one with the windows version you want ( 1 XP and 1 Win7 for example). Them select wich one do you want to boot from the boot menu.
