Playing with a Playstation controller?
Has anyone already tried playing with a PS gamepad?
Does it work properly?
I personally don't own an Xbox gamepad, just a PS2 controller which I plug into my PC using an USB adapter. It works just fine with games outside Steam, but for some reason the controls got all messed up when I tried playing a game on Steam (Brothers, a Tale of Two Sons).
I don't want to pay full price for this game and later realize I can't play it without an Xbox controller, which is remarkably overpriced here where I live.
Any advice?

all games on steam usually only support x-input controllers unless otherwise stated this game is no exception you will need an controller emulator todo so

PS4 controllers aren't recognized by the game officially, but you can get it to work just fine with an unofficial program. Just google DS4 windows.

I have already tried some controller emulators when I was trying to play Brothers, but none of them seemed to work. :(
Yep, yet another game I won't be able to play because I don't have the specific controller device Steam wants me to own. And believe me, this controller costs about 4 (four) times the price of this game in my country. I ♥♥♥♥ you not.

PS4 controller works flawlessly using DS4 software with bluetooth connection.

Since you're using a PS2 pad just like I used to until recently, just google x360ce. It's a 360 controller emulator, pretty easy to configure and it works just fine.

EDIT: Seems you've already tried it. Can you try it again? Also, which adapter are you using?

Hmm, I'll look into that. Pretty sure I've never tried this one. Thanks.

EDIT: It's just a generic blue adapter from a company called "Vtrex", but it works with any games outside steam.

DS4 is your friend.

Also I play with a PS4 controller, because IMO it best mimics the original intended Resident Evil controls, which were the PS1 controller.

x360ce should work just fine with it. It just emulates an Xinput controller (x360 one). If it doesn't work just leave a message and I'll try to help you if I can. Used x360ce for years.

Just google DS4.

Its IMO the best playstation controller emulator there is. No work at all, just download and enjoy (some older emulators, like DS3 needed you to install drivers etc, DS4 does not).

As others have said, if your PC is capable of receiving a blutooth signal, you can even go wireless using DS4!

Xbox One controllers will also work. That is, if they are cheaper that X360 controllers where you live.

Just in case you are wondering, you just need a micro USB cable to connect an X-1 controller to your PC.

I use MotioninJoy, it works for both the PS3 (it can even connect via bluetooth) and PS1/PS2 controllers via USB adapter (some adapters don't support vibration).

In fact I think they're even more expensive!

To be honest having all consoles I lean more on the XboxOne controller side, great controller for the PC, I barely use the razer Sabertooth/Onza anymore for the PC. If you play a lot on PC is a good investment, if not... just get a second hand X360 controller but you'll need a wired one or the PC wireless adapter.
