Never actually got to play these online (PAL region) but they were still some of the funnest RE's for me in singleplayer. Infact the specific 'Lone Wolf' game mode that turned off the other ai partners was what I preferred since they were pretty dumb.
Game just had a boatload re-playability with the different characters and their abilities and level specific strengths and weakness (Dave being able to bypass a mini puzzle and repair a pipe from his starting gear, Alyssa being able to do a similar thing throughout the games with her lockpicks, the others having access to certain areas/items in their 'home' scenarios, etc.)
Probably the most hardest RE also (solo) on the hardest extreme setting, fending off enemies with brooms and bug spray+lighter combos being the norm. Good times.
Would love these to eventually make their way here and would be happy enough with a 'as is' port, would be over the moon if steamworks online integration was furthermore added.
I loved the outbreak series deeply & know Steam would give it much activity online.
Sadly I never got the chance to play any co-op with anyone since 1 didn't have it over here in the UK apparently and though 2 did I never got my PS2 working online at the time so I had to play the game with the AI, there wasn't much issue playing with them back then but Capcom's AI today isn't exactly stellar (looking at you resi 5-6).
Would love if they brought the originals over to PC and all platforms or even remake them, it's become obvious at this point that the older Resident Evil games had more survival horror and item management (Outbreak had you create new weapons from tools and new medicines), Outbreak even went a step further and had you start off as infected which came with a timer meaning you had no choice but to progress as fast as you could while trying to slow down the infection, dealing with puzzles and monsters around you made the game pretty frantic and exciting for me.
I feel being able to finally play with 3 other people would be amazing to me.
I had them on my PS2 but never got to play online :o
and yes the outbreak supposed to have 25 levels.
If capcom wanted to print money off the idea all they need to do is this.
Make an outbreak game on new platforms and pc.
Give the purchasers the original 5 chapters from outbreak 1.
Sell the 2nd set of outbreak chapters as dlc as a pack or single.
DLC out the ass with costumes, chapters, challanges so on.
Make the game substainable with a dlc formula and allow it to generate income much like an mmo.
In short - I NEED TO BREAK OUT>>> REMAKE THIS GAME CAPCOM =D
Code veronica man lol
Eh I actually liked ORC for what it was, it was actually nice to revisit some areas and be back in Raccoon City for a change instead of the previous ones being in places like Russia, Africa and spain.
Also asking Capcom directly doesn't really work well on here.
