Video settings crash

Every time i try to change my video settings to fix the graphics the game crashes, so i've been playing the game on low res and in windowed mode, 30 fps and vsync off. I can't access the video settings menu because, like i said, it crashes every time i try to click it. Can somebody help? My pc meets every requirement so i know that can't be it.

Edit the "config.ini" file manually then start the game.

Try disabling the Steam overlay for the game.

I have the same problem but I tried editing my config.ini manually and it didn't seem to do anything although I am not sure if I entered in the changes correctly. Also my resolution is "unknown" and I'm not sure how to change it manually. Any help would be awesome, or if you could copy and paste your config.ini setup then maybe I could try it that way.

"unknown" means you've entered a wrong resolution. Check your Desktop native resolution and enter that in your "config.ini" both resolution and refresh rate.


Ex: for 1280x720 @60Hz

[DISPLAY]
Aspect=16:9
FrameRate=60FPS
FullScreen=ON
RefreshRate=60.00Hz
Resolution=1280x720
VSYNC=ON

I have the same problem, but I can't find "confing.ini" ( I'm quite a noob). Where is it? What should I do to find it?

change your settings in windowed mode then go back to fullscreen.

C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\CAPCOM\Resident Evil - biohazard@HD REMASTER

The AppData folder may be hidden by default. The issue could be an antivirus app blocking the REHD.exe from writing files, or maybe folder permissions set by your system on that specific folder. Setting the file as read-only or running the game "as administrator" should work.

I really apologize for reviving this post.
But in case when you enter: Settings to change the video settings within the game and then the game crashes...

Go all the way down and select: Reset all settings.
In my case, by doing that, I managed to fix the crash and I can now enter the video settings.
