Odd though it still gives you that hint of 'better get the serum' if that's what happened.
edit: ...you said completely empty though >.<
I hope you have a previous save file so you can try it again....
He died at my playthrough (i haven't even got the serum even if I went back to that room). Had not such problems but probably because I "activated" his body and a short cutscene appeared.
I was able to go through the door right after that.
i heard the no door mod causes some bugs in the game.
I used it my first playthrough the whole time.
Thanks, that did it! Although I still consider this a bug. Why would it tell me to get the serum when I already have it? Since I saw that message, I had no reason to interact with the dead body. Oh well, back to playing house of neverending doors. . .
If you watch the playthrough on youtube, you're not supposed to be able to enter the area when you have the serum... it triggers a cutscene
I won't. This is how CAPCOM games are programed (at least those in RE style).
They're linear so you can memorize them and learn how to play them perfectly on hard.
You run through fixed pictures (background texture) and the objects are placed via code to them.
And mostly there are no sideways planned for various tasks.
You have to get the serum to Richard. Richard seems dead but you still have to "activate" his body to move further.
I recently started the RE franchise but it remembers me to other much older CAPCOM games I really enjoy...
Back to speaking about older CAPCOM games...
You should have played Dino Crisis.
An energy research facility full with dinosaurs since the research failed and opened a rift in the space-time continuum which connected the island where the facility was to a time 65 million years ago.
That incident brought dinosaurs into the place which killed mostly all scientist except Dr. Kirk the major scientist and founder of the third energy which caused the incident.
The island is in a mixed state (present with a time 65 million years ago) and the government will send a task force to investigate the situation...
You play as Regina:

A stunning redhead agent from the S.O.R.T. (Secret Operation Raid Team)
Similar to RE you run through a building full of bloody victims.
But instead of zombies and monsters you have to fight against dinosaurs.
And by completing every single ending you had to run through the whole building complex up and down for a long time at least three times...
Finding key cards, programming key cards, finding keys, building scientific instruments, finding weapons, weapon mods and different ammo.
For a PS1 game it was just amazing!
I really would like to see a 1:1 remake just with better graphic.
I don't know the original RE1 but if it is similar to the HD Remake then I would be fine with a similar quality for DC.
