Lock pick worthless?
Well i have played the original alot and in RE Jills lock pick could open Sword key doors because they were simple. I cant seem to get her to open them in this Remake. Also the camera is extremely Annoying making me turn around all the time and just run in circles. Like i get thta the original one had a similair issue but this is 10 times worse lol. other then that so far it looks amazing and brings me back. oh and if i minimize the game it crashes sometimes and i have to start aaaaalllll over again HURRAY! why didnt anyone test these things again?

hint use the tank controls, and the lock pick opens simple locks, not emblem locks.

Go back to the old tank controls (feels weird at first, but is alot better. no more running between the same two screens). The lockpick now only picks the small key locks (with simple mechanisms) there is only five of these in the game, there is no desks to pick in the residence anymore.

only one Two of them need opening and thats for the chemical, and Something else(its new so i'll keep it secret) all other stuff is optional/convienience

To use the new controls you have to keep holding the thumbstick in the same direction even when the camera changes. It ends up honestly feeling even more confusing than just using the tank controls really. If your on gamepad then you have the best of both as you can use DPad for moving around, and thumbstick for abusing quick turns of the new controls.

And as for lockpick it works on simple locks. There are like only 5 in the game all near the start. If your Chris you have to hunt small keys for those so the lockpick does help.

Yep, I was pretty annoyed and taken back when I first started playing this version too.

I used to immediately go over to the shotgun room but now her Lockpick is way less powerful and she needs to screw around with the sword key. That right there was actually one of the first instances of me being stuck straight away in this remake :P

Most of the stuff is the same, or a managable variation. the tigers eyes have changed colour from Red/Blue to Yellow/Blue - but gives the same items

I seriously don't remember the lock pick unlocking Sword carved doors or any carved doors in the original. Are you sure about that?

In the 1996 version, you couldn't even find the sword key as Jill because the lockpick took care of all that in addition to unlocking doors/drawers that needed the old/small key.

Haaa! I knew I wasn't crazy. I went straight for the right hand door and got blasted by the 'carving of a sword', but recalled ages ago beign able to go straight through there and getting Jill Sandwiched.

That'd explain it.

Damn I need to replay it. Starting to forget about things.

1996 version definetly had its charm. I like that now the "FMV cutscenes" look much worse than the actual gameplay, versus the other way around.

Makes sense that she lost the ability to open Sword Doors, back in '96 she was the "Master" of unlocking afterall..
