And as for lockpick it works on simple locks. There are like only 5 in the game all near the start. If your Chris you have to hunt small keys for those so the lockpick does help.
I used to immediately go over to the shotgun room but now her Lockpick is way less powerful and she needs to screw around with the sword key. That right there was actually one of the first instances of me being stuck straight away in this remake :P
In the 1996 version, you couldn't even find the sword key as Jill because the lockpick took care of all that in addition to unlocking doors/drawers that needed the old/small key.
That'd explain it.
Damn I need to replay it. Starting to forget about things.
