If you are looking for fixed camera games you aren't going to find many, but if you don't mind third person games...

Evil Within was made by the same director though its a bit more Resident Evil 4 than Remake. Its one of those contentious titles that people either love or hate.

Love the first two Dead Space titles which were inspired by System Shock and Resident Evil.

Lone Survivor is an indie sidescroller survival horror game though it feels inspired a bit more by Silent Hill.

There actually is a pair of old school survival horror games on Steam called Obscure 1 & 2. I can't comment on their quality though as I've never played them myself.

the first game is ok/average but the second one is bad................

just get 2nd one with really cheap price.........

Obscure is very comparable to RE zero and outbreak with 5 playable characters with every one of them have their own unique skills if one of them is dead they are gone for good for entire playthrough............

Best thing for you to do in this situation is to download an emulator and play all Silent Hill, Fatal Frame, Forbidden Siren games. You won't find anything remotely close to Resident Evil 1 released these days with the exception of RE0 remaster and whatever they're planning to remaster next.

Maybe Cold Fear is a good go too. It has a Steam version.

Have you played the silent hill series, last time i checked they had one of my favorite games of that series on Steam, however i'm not sure if it still is even on steam, or how it plays on steam.

I've seen nobody mentioned the Parasite Eve games, made by the same team that created the original Resident Evil on psx. They look a bit dated now but still great games. You'll probably need to grab an emulator and iso to play them but I highly recommend them.

Those are more RPG than survival horror.

Also Resident Evil was created by Capcom. Parasite Eve by Squaresoft. Not the same teams.

Yeah was squaresoft, but I read in a magazine at the time that a few members of the original RE left capcom and went to squaresoft to work on it.. however I dont know how true that is. Still its a great game and does share some similarities.

I loved Parasite Eve. It's weapon upgrade system with the parts is also something to be found in Revelations.

But when it comes to actual gameplay like the classic REs, then there is nothing to be found now. We have to see how well the Remake of 2 performs, or if it will only serve to ease the nostalgic demands.

They arent on steam but the orginal dos version of Alone in the dark trilogy is decent. They are on Good old Games. RE was actually inspired by those games and Sweet Home a.k.a. the best nes rpg ever

You can get the Fatal Frame games on the PSN PS2 classics for pretty cheap.

Steam games AND fix camera angles....that's a tough one.
1. Obscure 1

Steam horror games I could recommend that aren't first person:
1. Deadly Premonion
2. Alan Wake

Here's some non-Steam oldies:
1. Nocturne
2. The Blair Witch Project
