Whats the best use of magnum ammo?

So playing the game on hard with jill and I got the magnum early this time, but I'm not sure what to use it on. Some enemies just seem like a waste. I'm thinking maybe hunters cause these guys are tanks that take about 3 shotgun shells to kill. But then I'm not really sure, its funny cause there actually seems to be more magnum ammo than you would figure from such a powerful weapon.

So what do you guys think is the best use of the magnum?

I advise you to use 5 bullets on the giant plant use the other remaining bullets on the giant snake the second encounter and the tyrant

Well I killed the plant with jvolt to save on supplies. Its not really to complicated a mixture and its better than slogging it out with it that fights probably the worst in the game.

Snakes a good recommendation, maybe hunters these things attack so fast and suck bad crimsons too. Tyrant I'm not so worried about cause that's a fun fight.

Ok so I finally got to yawn and i tried out the magnum and my many bullets on it, and I wasn't very impressed with it. Yawn is a tank and took a hell of a lot of magnums.

He took a full 6 magnums, then a whole pistol clip, finally reloaded the magnum, and he took 3 more shots. And yawn is not worth these precious bullets, its a slog but you can cut the dudes tail with a knife more effectively than these bullets. And magnums are usually powerful I don't get it, they can sometimes one shot hunters and crimsons. But yawn takes damn near a dozen magnums to go down. Its like he's got a natural resistance to magnums or something.

Guess I'll save them for the lab, least they'll make tyrant easy, or could just blast those bug hybrid things they're always fun to splatter.

I always use the magnum for the first 3 hunters after returning to the mansion, and then I put it back in the item box and only get it back out for the two Tyrant battles.

There is quite a bit of ammo for it though even on hard, I found I think 3 clips, and plus the initial bullets.

Its great against hunters, and something I don't get about yawn.
Just killed him with 1 grenade, 1 shotgun shell, and a ton of stabs. But it seemed like more of a payoff than that many magnums I used earlier. But it don't make sense how would someone kill a 30 foot or bigger snake with a knife? I mean how thick would that thing be? I think it'd take a thousand cuts to kill a snake that size, and probably a bigger knife.

But I know its just a game I just find it funny.
