(I do support people buying this on GoG since GoG is actually good unlike epic)
Me personally will wait until steam release if it ever happens for the sole purpose that i mostly play titles like this on deck and im not jumping through hoops and adding stuff through other systems, If i cant adjust proton from the get go and have to do the hoop jumping I dont partake.
It does make sense, lots of people like to have their stuff on one place.
if they were released on steam they would have been released as is via capcom possibly
thats how many older games on steam are sadly old versions never to be updated
gog takes the time and work to keep old games alive
plus there drm free
no worrys on if steams in maintenance, account stolen, not able to get online to download and install, they have installers you can download and backup for later
i do understand wanting everything on one platform
but branching into gog grants access to so many older games we otherwise do not have access too nor compatibility fixed versions nor controller support normally
i would recommend checking out the gog ones before deciding
getting gog games make great backup games if anything even unexpected happens
The modern fixes sure, but modders usually can do literally the same thing, The only difference now is youre giving money to capcom.
Also a lot of their fixes are just through the gog wrapper, Honestly if gog was smart just charge a royalty fee /sale on another other storefront other than gog with the wrapper and sell it everywhere
this was a thing between capcom and gog
capcom doing there own thing dunno if they would do that
most of there old collections of older games below the ps1 era so easier then ps1 and above
but there was talks of an RE1 remaster/remake this may be what was spoken of
so far most we have seen are remakes from capcom RE side
only orignal RE to hit steam were 0 4 ~ 1 being the remaster gamecube one
the gog mgs ones were older ones if i recall?, the ones on steam were newer ones based on the newer collections idk which eras collections
if correct, so it is possible they may revive the resident evils unto pc
but so far has there been any RE 1-2-3 remaster collections on consoles at all like mgs saw?
i would love to see resident evil originals on steam
but sometimes we gotta take the options were given
to avoid them all because there on gog is kinda sad
as many of us waited for a day they might return and there here and some shrug because its on another platform?
under platform quality i would say gog and steam are the top two
and im a longtime user of both
Why would I buy a game on GOG only to add it as a shortcut on Steam when it could be available directly on it.
I still would like to have it on Steam as well, nothing wrong with that at all. Thanks for the free points butthurt somebody.
many don't know you can add shortcuts of other games to steam
it wont be available directly on steam highly likely beyond adding a shortcut
its co-worked between gog and capcom as developers
