Dualshock 4 Controller D-Pad doesn't work.
My PS4 controller works in all other Steam games.

The last time I played Resident Evil 1 Remake HD on Steam I used an Xbox 1 controller, and its D-pad worked without issue. I have to use the DS4 thumbstick to do anything, including navigating menus. I've looked and played with the controller options, and nothing seems to make a difference. It also seems the "confirm" and "cancel" buttons are swapped (O to confirm, and X to cancel, rather than the other way around).

It's not the controller (again, works fine in other titles). It's not Steam or Windows (No issues with any other game or program). It's something to do with this game. Does anyone know of a fix? I'll mod the game if I have to, but I'd prefer something simple if possible.

probably just need to set the controller layout as gamepad in the steam controller settings for the game, it will make the game treat it as an xbox controller

I gave it a try. Didn't help. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I duno thats weird because i can use mine just fine.
I know this is an old thread but if you are simultaneously running ds4-windows as well as steam-input, turn off ds4-windows while you play. this fixed issues with button mapping and dpad for me.

Ironically, that is the program that actually later fixed my issue.
