Where the HELL is this first item box?!
80 minutes of...absolutely nothing. So far this game has been so much worse then RE0. Anyways, where the heck is the first item box??? My inventory is currently full and I can't pick up the key in the trap room, and I can't seem to find an item box anywhere. Please help, I'd like to get past the first 10 minutes of this game without a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ guide.

I advise you to start the game again and do not fill your inventory until the first box.
The closest crate is in the west wing, medical storage room.

So you can just straight up get softlocked in the first 20 minutes? That's...not very good game design. Um, okay. Thanks for the help.

Unfortunately, in this game you can't throw objects on the floor like in RE0.
I do not recommend collecting all the items that you find on your way, for example, there is an Emblem in the Dining Room, do not touch it, they will not disappear anywhere.

That sucks. Thanks for the advice! On the brightside, the RE games only get better from here, so just 30 hours of this and I'm home free!

Are you sure you're softlocked? What's your current inventory?

The Emblem can be put back on the dinning room where you found it, you'll know what to do with it later.

To reach the item box you need to use the Arrow Head (which you obtain by Examining the Arrow). It's not far from there.

I was unironically softlocked. I had a knife, a gun, 2 herb mixes, ink ribbon, and the blue gem. It was actually a bruh moment. I just had to say ♥♥♥♥ it and reset, and it's been fine since then. Still, wish that wasn't a think to begin with.

Well, you could use one of the two herbs, or spend the ink ribbons in the dinning room typewriter. Technically not a softlock, just sucks to use resources without needing it, but it's no big deal, you'll find more later.

Afaik the only way to be unable to progress is if as Chris you happen to grab both the Blue Gem and the Shotgun Shells before getting the Arrow.

That's true, but losing those resources so early would have sucked. Still hilarious that you can softlock so early.
