So, where exactly do the spiders come in?
Hey guys, apologies if this is an overdone question, but where exactly do the spiders come in, and how often do they show up?
I'm having a really good time playing the game, but I have such horrible arachnophobia, I don't know if I can even continue playing,
I'm at the point where I got the grenade launcher and met Richard.
Thank you in advance.

Use the grenade launcher on them. Its one of their weaknesses.

well there is also a giant boss spider. so yeah. if you have really this bad fear of spiders this is not a good game to play tc sorry. especially that first encounter would probaly make them ♥♥♥♥ thier pants due to the camera angle (even tough the spider does barely try to attack there)

but as a normal enemy they only show up in 2 rooms (excludeing the boss spider room) in the whole game. sadly you MUST go trough these rooms to progress as 1 contains 1 important key item and one is simply a tresspass point which is your only way out. the boss spider room needs to be crossed atleast twice to progress. none of them need to be killed tough. can run away from all of them includeing the boss.

I haven't played Jill but the spiders on Chris aren't too many. There are a few but they are easily killed even if you are panicking and have a shotgun. There are a few spiders that don't attack you and just look creepy on a wall.

Has someone who dislikes all giant spiders in games(though i still even play EDF) The spiders here aren't that bad at all. The worst they do is look creepy, but thats about it.

They move slow and and have only 2(?) attacks. You don't see them much either, the only spider you need to watch out for is the Black Tiger boss. She is aggressive, but she also dies pretty quickly. If you want OP i can just record all the spots spiders are at specifically for you without spoiling anything else. You are exactly how i was when I wanted to play this game for the first time so trust me, you aren't alone lol.

1. The residence
You'll meet them on the way you get the book from a counter(the first big double door). You can avoid them easily.

2. The basement of the mansion
Before you active the elevator you meet some of them on the way. Again, you don't need to fight them. But you may want to get the map from the wall before you run away.

3. The black tiger
It is a boss fight, so you need to at least watch it for some seconds (if you open the door fast enough).

Sorry for not replying to you (or anyone else for that matter) earlier!
Got a little busy then forgot about it completely.
Anyways, at this point I think I have 3 options:
1. Face my fears and risk slightly losing it (I say this because a month ago I was doing the chalice dungeons in Bloodborne, which are FILLED with spiders, to the point where I couldn't close my eyes without seeing them, sounds dramatic I know, but I think I was just playing the game too much lol)
2. Quit the game, which would be unfortunate, seeing as I'm enjoying it, but at the same time, my arachnophobia is too fierce for me to fight or even look at a giant spider boss.
3. Get a friend, or be in a call while I'm doing it, so it'll be less horrible than doing it alone.

Thank all of you for your information and advice, I appreciate it :)

If you can handle the spiders in that game, you can probably handle them here. These spiders are very slow. And I also have a fear of spiders. They’re creepy in the game at first but they are few and grenadine them from a distance is less scary.

Yeah like the spiders in this resident evil are almost harmless, 1 room you don't even have to acknowledge them, and in another you can shoot them while they are off screen.

Btw Zero, I understand the " I could see them even with my eyes closed" thing lol, the samething happened to me a couple years back with Earth defense force. (If you wanna get over your fear of spiders or at least minimize it, I suggest playing that game lol)

If it was first person, I’d give up xD. But since it’s not, it’s easier to handle.

Same, black tiger can tackle you, that in first person would be a huge NO GO xP
