But for some (which i now include myself), having you're resolve tested on how much you are willing to repeat the same massive section before bordom sets in dose not requaint to a 'challange'.
Games were genrally much worse back then, it seems we were willing to put up with more. That and having more free time as a teenager.

It was my understanding though that it made ammo more abundant and enimies easier. If not the case, then indeed i should have probably just done that.
