No. It's pre-rendered backgrounds. Would never work.

It's not technically possible. As Crusta said, the backgrounds are pre-rendered images, not 3D models.

Yeah, you can always play RE4 though! :GanadoRE4:

For pre-rendered backgrounds the preview on the store looks pretty damn good tbh. Didn't Resident Evil Code Veronica X have a first person shooter mode?

Code Veronica doesn't use pre-rendered backgrounds. It uses 3D modeled enviroments. Much like Silent Hill and Dino Crisis 1.

It is arguably impossible to use 3D camera angles in REmake unless they rebuild the whole thing.

A few weapons (Like the sniper) would be in first person for when you aimed.

He means Gun Survivor 2.

There was a first person mode in Code Veronica;). It was a minigame though...

It wasn't part of the regular game though, I think it was the bonus mode you unlock after beating the story. It was only for a select number of areas though.

I see, now i remember. It was the Battle minigame or something. Anyway my point is Veronica had 3D models as environments, that's why the Minigame's 1st person mode and Gun Survivor 2 were possible.

If Capcom ever reboot the series or RE 7 they should make it an option

This is all new graphics on an all new system, a complete rebuild of them in HD. In this age of "bloat the crap out of everything, and release full models because it enables more settings and we have infinite disk space, oh wait now we need 3 disks", why the ♥♥♥♥ would the graphics be pre-rendered?

First person, or 3rd person over the sholder mode (like RE4) should be a peice of piss, and quite frankly, including it would be the only reason why I'd buy the game. I never played the original game because I couldn't aim worth a ♥♥♥♥ on that fixed perspective camera BS that they used.

Over the shoulder would not work for this game at all, it's port of the Gamecube REmake just remastered that's all it is to it. there is nothing wrong with the fixed camera.

Fixed camera is not just about a technical choice, it change everything about the gameplay. The clunky way you need to control your character, the fact that you cannot easily aim where you want to and the perspective that make it harder to see the danger ahead of you works way better in the horror genre then a 3rd person shooter perspective in my opinion. It creates a feeling of tension and insecurity, instead of a feeling of control and power from a 3rd person camera.

Pre-rendered means the backgrounds are actually 2 dimensional images. It was a common graphics technique during the 90's to allow more computer power to go to more impressive 3D character models. The REmake stayed faithful to this old style remaking the backgrounds in 2D but they look so much more impressive with more modern technology. As you can see even though the game is from 2002 it looks nice.

An over the shoulder perspective is impossible without a 3D environment. Personally I love the gameplay style as it is, and would like to see new RE games done in this style using pre-rendered graphics once more. It would look amazing no doubt.
