The Original RE Trilogy
There is a lot of buzz on this forum about Resident Evil Remaster becoming another Remastered Remaster and while that may or may not be good (Remember Resident Evil 3 Remaster) We do not see as many comments for the original trilogy or. I believe Capcom should release the original trilogy on Steam and next gen consoles. Yes they may need to dig the original source code out of the moth balls and update it so it can run on next gen consoles but it is something that can and should be done.

We have not seen the originals for quite a while. Yes we have the Directors Cut, Deadly Silence and games that touch upon the originals like Umberella and Darkside Chonicles.

But can we honestly say we would not like to see the old RPD building or Brad Vickers as a zombie in the courtyard after his unfortunate encounter with Nemesis in RE3.
We all joke about the bad voice acting but weirdly I prefer that to the acting in the remake especially how it was filmed as a FMV Video.

Also doing two different scenarios in RE2 where the puzzles were rearranged Slight as we went through Claire and Leons B scenarios.

One of my favourite memories was in Resident Evil 3 and when you come down the stairs on the RD building and Nemesis crashed through the window and began chasing me while firing his rocket launcher the Oh crap moment never felt the same in the remake because it didn't feel as tense or as close quarters and even during the mercenaries mini game where sometimes you could face two Nemesis's at the same time.

Remaking and remastering the games is all well and good but Capcom should release the originals so people who do not remember the originals or would like to see where there favourite Resident Evil games begin.

I also would love to see the Dino Crisis originals and remasters available as well but thats another thread.

What do you guys think?
Would you like to see the originals released here. What is your favourite moment from the original trilogy?

Check out the REupscale Project for RE2 and 3. They look fantastic and it's easy to set up

I would like to see Remasters of RE2 and RE3 which also include the original PSX version. Halo MCC did it whereby you could switch from old to remastered graphics with a press of a button, so why not RE?

Capcom did mention RE in a recent interview with Famitsu, translated here:

As for Resident Evil, Capcom noted that it will provide titles from the series in multiple ways in order to let more players enjoy the games. It does not say which games will appear on which platforms, but it sounds like Capcom is teasing a remaster version of previous titles.

It does not say much and I question the accuracy of the translation, but hopefully a sign that Capcom will finally wake up, realize that the old RE games are highly sought after, and bring them to PC with high quality ports (this year if we are lucky).

But Crapcom being so out of touch with the fanbase and inconsistent in terms of quality, I never know what to expect with this outfit.

I wonder if this means the SourceNext ports are coming to Steam.
