If Capcom ever feels the need to mess with RE1 again I would prefer a first person game with a VR option like RE7.
But they are not to be trusted with remakes after RE3 anyway, best to leave RE1 alone as the remake is still great.
I prefer 3rd over 1st for reasons not going to get into at the moment (have said elsewhere though lol)
Anyhow wanted to let you know there is ALSO a FPP fan remake in the works which will be different and unique as you are playing as Bravo team members. I vaguely recall one choice is Rebecca but not who the other is. Have to find the link again as I ALSO want to check that one out.
If you are interested I can list the link here whenI find it.
I didn't know about the other fan remake. I'll gladly check it out if you find the link.
And yeah unfortunately (for me lol) most fans seem to prefer 3rd person. For more action focused games like RE5 I agree, but for more slow paced horror titles it's gotta be 1st person or fixed camera IMO.
I get it & wish more games had a choice so everyone is happy. There definitely is more tension in FPP horror game I just feel kinda detached in it and as said have a harder time maneuvering in it. Dead by Daylight is prime example as when on killer am constantly missing doorways and running into walks lol.
Not sure but I MAY have found the link. Switching from mobile over yo pc so can list what am looking at.
Ok this MIGHT be it....the pics makes it seem like is what I was looking at before but can't find the exact same video so could also possibly be yet another fan project:

Oh I've seen that before actually, just completely forgot about it. It's super cool how it respects the look of the original CG backgrounds, but for true first person immersion
I'd need a bit more... graphical fidelity.
But it's still cool, I'll try it out sometime if gets fully released and polished.
Considering that nobody has come even close to finishing a fanmade RE game yet, it's pretty obvious that nobody should be thinking about making two simultaneously, because it's just absurd.
Remember that team who was behind the RE1.5 restoration, and the Gun Survivor FCA project lots of years ago, and none of that ever saw the light.
The RE2 Remake was close to being finished when Capcom shut it down but this sort of was a unique thing where Capcom of Japan invited that team down to Japan an inspired the RE2 Remake we know of today.
I think its cool your in the police station before the attack and before they head to the mansion.
That's some fairy tale.
The Invader Games Youtube channel shows that their project was nowhere close to finished. The most advanced stuff they ever shown was an Alpha footage of Leon slooooowly walking through a pitch-dark RPD and shooting some zombies. Rod Lima's RE2 project was actually in a far more advanced completion stage, with more locations, enemies, mechanics, events, inventory, etc. implemented (the state of both projects can be compared on Youtube)
Invader Games just started drawing too much attention, advertising, giving interviews, and making big noise and promises, eventually earning themselves a wake-up call, while Rod Lima kept a much lower profile and nothing happened to him, just like nothing happened to other fan projects that flew under Capcom's radar. Screaming out loud that you're making a fan RE game might be a good way of gaining some quick cyber popularity, donations, a C&D, and if you're lucky maybe a visit to Capcom's HQ... but let's be real, is that what someone who actually wants to finish their project should do?
The petition for a RE2 remake existed for over a decade, Capcom just didn't bother listening while the TPS era RE games were doing fine. IG didn't inspire the idea, they just happened to be making their fan remake while Capcom was starting working on the official in the background, and IG's project was getting too much attention so it had to be taken down. Capcom just did so in a polite and nice way.
They went on to release their game as "Daymare 1998" which frankly is better than most are giving it credit for. I would love to know how much stuff Capcom used of theirs, like idea wise. Because there are puzzles and elements that are comically similar. So who got the idea from who sorta thing? Also is funny to see locations in that game that are obvious mods on what they were supposed to be had it actually came out as a RE2 remake. One that comes to mind instantly is Kendo's gun shop since there is also a gun shop in that game, looking almost exactly like the layout of the original RE2 release
Capcom didn't make re3 remake. That was M-two.
